Jazziminna 95 Posted September 21, 2015 I'm so bummed. I gained 2 lbs this past week. It was my 3rd week post op and now I'm on soft foods. I hope this is typical. I hope this is just a "body adjustment" thing. I had lost 33 lbs but now it's only 31. Now I'm afraid to eat anything. Such a let down.
IncredibleShrinkingMan 437 Posted September 21, 2015 @@Jazziminna How are you doing with calorie intake in general? Are you drinking any non-Protein calories? And how is your exercise going? If you are doing all those things right, then 2 lbs is easily explained by an increased ability to get the necessary Water, and by the possible addition of some muscle if you are walking enough (muscle weighs more than fat). Don't overreact, give it time and make sure the overall direction keeps heading downward
taysidebell 176 Posted September 21, 2015 Hi I am only 6 days out, try not to look at the numbers just get your 60 to 80 gram Protein in and your Water your healing right now : )
Jazziminna 95 Posted September 21, 2015 (edited) Calories are low, less than 600. No exercise until after week 6. Drink Water and shakes. I'm not overreacting yet. Just a little bummed and looking for positive encouragement. I added Vitamins again last week. Maybe it is just water retention. Maybe this week will prove better. Thanks for letting me attend my own pity party. LOL Edited September 21, 2015 by Jazziminna
ShrinkingPeach 1,291 Posted September 21, 2015 You can have Fluid retention from day to day. I don't know how often you weigh but it can fluctuate greatly from day to day. I weigh every day but try to see where the trend is going. Hang in there, this is very common and if you follow your plan the weight loss WILL happen! You can do this! vincereautmori 323 Posted September 22, 2015 I'm kind of surprised no-one has mentioned the three week stall, don't be surprised if it takes a week or two to get the dial moving again. Sounds like you're doing OK, don't sweat it yet, in my experience I hit a stall about every 5-6 weeks.
Threetimesacharm 1,400 Posted September 24, 2015 I gained 1.2 pounds and have lost half. I think because your body is going through such a big adjustment weight fluctuations can be expected. Your not doing anything wrong; neither am I. Just keep doing what 'yur doing and hang in there!!!
charmia 5 Posted September 27, 2015 I had this same problem. A stall at 3 weeks is very common. It will pass. One thing that helps me is drinking more water- if you can. I know it's hard to get all the Water down. I'm 8 weeks out.
