Hi guys!

I was sleeved almost 2 weeks ago but I had the band removed at the same time.

After a mountain of issues with the band im glad I went for revision surgery and im really happy the doctor agreed to do it at the same time.

The thing is I can't tolerate anything else apart from watered down juice and broth.

I had a go at a bit of custard today but big nope.

I am worried because I am supposed to go on an overseas holiday friday.

Has anyone else needed longer than usual to adjust? Could it be because of the extra strain from the band?

It could be the additional surgical procedure. I had a hard time after the surgery for about a week and then it calmed down. I'm sorry you are having issues. I hope they resolve before your flight on Friday. Did you purposely plan a trip so close to your surgery? You might want to let your surgeon know you are leaving the country and are still having some issues. I would hate for you to get sick in a foreign country. Best of luck.

No the surgery and the trip were not supposed to be together. I'm still in close discussion with the doctor. So hopefully things will sort themselves out

Sometimes dairy and sugar cause issues very early on so things like Protein Shakes custard yogurt and apple sa use. I was like that. I then blended chicken and veg Soup to a thin consistency and that was fine. Obviously you are best to follow your Dr. But just providing and idea it could be your sleeve doesn't like the above I mentioned like mine at first. All the best.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
