Erron1970 11 Posted September 21, 2015 This seems to be a frequent item discussed on the other sites I visit...they also brag about "smooth move tea".

KALINY 10 Posted September 24, 2015 I deal everyday with this. tried it all and what works wonder for me. WONDERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I go to the restroom every morning and I feel so light, my skin is flawless my bacteria levels are good. bacteria in bariatric patients can cause bone problems, try to go to the restroom whenever possible. drink a lot of Water, Fiber, keep yourself clean inside. 1 dose Miralax mixed with lose weight teas from rite aid. ever other day. or senna pills (RX ask your dr) 2wice a day with 2 dulcolax gels. every day and I ve tried IT ALL in the past. this works if is a routine, i cant stop or I get bloated and constipated fast. beachgal2935 596 Posted September 24, 2015 I use Walmart's generic brand of Miralax called ClearLax ($12.92 for a 30 day supply). One capful EVERY day in my coffee or any beverage as its tasteless. I'm 5 months post-op and it works like a charm as I go every day. My doctor recommended it.

onega128 21 Posted September 24, 2015 It's been 10 days since my bypass and I still haven't had a bm. Yesterday the doctor gave me an arsenal of things to take: colace, senna, and magnesium citrate. Doc said not to leave the house and call if nothing has happened in 48 hrs.
DangerMouse007 105 Posted September 24, 2015 I had one BM the morning after I arrived home from the hospital, and then nothing for several days. I took Milk of Magnesia one ounce per hour for three hours 7 days post-op, and that worked. Then nothing again for a week so I did the MoM again one ounce per hour for three hours; that worked. Finally on the third week I had a regular BM without any "help". Thankfully I've been regular ever since.
mskami77 295 Posted September 25, 2015 Getting regular is a daily effort. I swear by 2 FiberCon chewable tablets twice daily. They're sf and they taste like sweettarts. I pair it with a cup of probiotic lemon ginger tea every night. No issues. I go at least twice daily but most days 3 times depending on what I eat and my Fluid intake. HappyValleyHappy 48 Posted September 27, 2015 I've settled in to a dose of store brand Clearlax (miralax) every other day. It's keeping me regular and from what I understand a bm every 3 days isn't unusual because of the small amount we're taking in. I'm not comfortable with that, tho. I've always been once a day, every day. I do know those Protein Shakes settle in the colon like concrete.
The Candidate 3,215 Posted September 27, 2015 It took a week for my first BM as a post op. Now I take a stool softener daily, which seems to do the trick. Good luck!
erachellem 4 Posted September 27, 2015 I would start with benefiber, then Miralax, then the softener. Don't use a laxative. Make sure you get your fluids and walk. Also I like to suck on some sugar free hard candy to help with head hunger and there is actually a warning on the package that says that having a few can cause a laxative effect. Obviously you aren't going to be pooping as often as before because your intake is a lot less. So if you used to be an everyday kind of gal it's ok if you're a every 3 days kind of girl. Your body is different. If you know this is Constipation and it's painful and bothersome you should speak to your doctor

kimvox66 91 Posted October 12, 2015 My problem is weird. It's not so much that I'm constipated, it's the the um, "trap door" isn't opening enough to empty. In other words, I'm ready to go, my body is ready to release, everything is in place but the valve won't open wide enough. I've NEVER had this problem. Can anyone relate and if so, any suggestions?
