gin765 49 Posted October 20, 2015 @username2...I am so sorry to hear your surgery has been delayed! I can imagine how disappointed you must feel, as I have been in a similar situation of delay. Last December, when I was almost finished jumping through all the hoops, my husband lost his job right before Christmas. For us, no job = no health insurance = no surgery. I was so upset, but that actually helped demonstrate to myself and to him how much I really wanted to get banded. Once he got a new (even better!) job, I didn't have to start completely over, but I did have to repeat several of the test I'd already done, because they were more than a year old. If you can, try to find some good in your situation. Thing usually do happen for a reason. Chin up... I'm sure you will come out on top!
gin765 49 Posted October 20, 2015 @CJ2009... I made it until today, day 5 post-op without being hungry. And then, it hit me about an hour ago. Right now, I am sooooo hungry I can barely think. Maybe it's because I felt so much better today and was more active? I've walked over 7,000 steps, which is more than double yesterday and 6x the day before. How did you get your hunger under control? More Protein? More calories from Soup, dairy, juice? Just try not to think about it?
CJ2009 8 Posted October 20, 2015 @@gin765 Congrats on making it 5 days without hunger! Once the hunger came back I was a little worried that I would slip back into my old habits but that hasn't happened. I get full so fast now that I cant possibly imagine how I would overeat. I made a mistake yesterday because I let myself get distracted with work and didn't eat anything all afternoon. By the time I did eat I was really hungry and wolfed down some cottage cheese. That was the first time I felt like throwing up...it really felt bad. Lesson learned, eat slow!

sweets27 24 Posted October 24, 2015 Hi All Day 1 post op and I'm miserable!???????? The trapped gas didn't get to my shoulder but it's all in my stomach. The only way I can sleep is sitting up. This is far more worse than when I had my caesarean. I have been walking but no meds. Walgreens nor CVS carry it; only hospitals. I'm about to lose my mind. I was so not expecting this! I hope this ends soon.
willow15 4 Posted October 24, 2015 (edited) @@sweets27 I was the same, I'd a csection in June and expected minimal discomfort in comparison. You will feel a little better each day and back to yourself very soon. The first day post op was my worst! It will get better try not to panic Edited October 24, 2015 by willow15
gin765 49 Posted October 24, 2015 @sweets27... I am so sorry to hear you're feeling bad! I am thankful everyday that I seem to have been one of the lucky ones who didn't get the terrible gas pains, among other things. Do you think maybe the hospital pharmacy could fill your pain medicine order? They filled my liquid narcotics before I left the hospital so I could take it home with me. Also, in my area, CVS and Walmart both carry a store brand of liquid Tylenol. It was pretty thick and syrupy, so I actually preferred to crush regular Tylenol with a pill crusher I got at CVS. I mixed the crushed meds with Water in a shot glass and chugged. It was nasty too, so I chased it with some juice. Be strong and hopefully each day will be just a bit better than the last! I'll be thinking about you. Keep us updated on how you're doing.

I haven't been eating/drinking much because I'm nervous and the gas has me full all the time. Is this normal?? I really need to be back to myself soon I have a date this Saturday and he has no idea what I've just done???? Some solid advice would be nice! Thanks guys! gin765 49 Posted November 6, 2015 How's everyone doing?
sweets27 24 Posted November 10, 2015 Thanks for your kind words and support. That was truly a rough time for me, but luckily I was able to get the Rx and that helped a ton. Plus some gas x helped greatly with getting it out. However I do have a question. I'm a little over 2 weeks post op and I just had my first fill this past Friday, but what am I supposed to feel? Is it supposed to be tight like it was right after surgery? I have some restriction I guess because I can't eat as much as before, but I'm not sure if it's me being mental because I'm scared to eat due to fear of getting " stuck" or gaining back the 20 lbs I lost or because I physically can't because of the band. Oh and can I get some suggestions on other means of Protein that's soft? I just got braces and eating meat is not gonna happen right now and I'm sure I shouldn't be surviving on mashed potatoes and apple sauce.
