Richmond California Kaiser? anyone

Recommended Posts

I'm feeling pretty normal, unless I'm eating something. Not too tired, which is surprising to me. I was even able to run my usual 2 hour support group without feeling like I needed a break. I commute to SF for work and my stomach hurts a little when I get out of the car... That's the worst of it right now. I'm also struggling a little to make myself eat and I'm not up to 48 oz of Water yet, but Im close:). Can't wait to weigh myself, cuz these close are getting loose!

Everyone seems to rave about Dr Baggs.

That's a mellow recovery.. Loose clothes are the best lol never thought I'd love baggy jeans...

It feels like a mellow recovery. I've always been a fan of tight clothes, but I like what the loose ones mean:) I didn't expect my skinny jeans to be baggy so fast...

I was wondering what kind of bariatric surgery does richmond kaiser generally do? Do they give you a choice?

Richmond offers sleeve and bypass, no lap band. They'll do the duodenal switch for people with a BMI over 60, too.

I started out wanting the band bc it can be temporary.

Then found out that there are tons of complications. It can slip, many don't lose all there excess weight, there are more food restrictions and you have to have an access port..

Then I wanted the sleeve and still do.

Less food restrictions later on. Better nutrient absorbability. Less complications if you follow the rules.

I went through a similar process. I don't like the malabsorption aspect of bypass, especially since I take daily thyroid hormones. I wanted to make sure that I wouldn't have issues with my pills.< /p>

only time you get denied is if you don't follow thru with their specific requirements. Like the pre op meal plan or if you gain over 10 pounds pre op they are going to think you unable to make the lifestyle changes needed to be successful.
