Miss Mac 6,262 Posted September 19, 2015 You can run to the corner drugstore and get some Ambesol or its generic equivalent. It's an anesthetic gel that can be applied directly. More likely than not it will be with the dental stuff instead of the pain relievers.
Bufflehead 6,358 Posted September 19, 2015 If it isn't better by then, you may want to let your anesthesiologist know about the toothache when you are there for surgery. They will want to be extra careful when they are putting the breathing tube in - your toothache could mean you have some sort of loose tooth or root damage, and the last thing they want is to knock out a loose tooth and send it down into your lungs when getting you prepped for surgery! eta: I have heard that some surgeons will postpone surgery for anyone with a tooth problem, recent filling, etc. because of the issue with the breathing tube, so use the info above judiciously. umo 86 Posted September 19, 2015 Call your surgeon's help line. With surgery being Monday, I would not mess with any pain meds that may or may not cause issues. Just call and let them decide what you need to do. All the best and hope you feel better.
