mismatched 24 Posted September 17, 2015 Does salmon typically go down well? I'm craving grilled salmon with salt and pepper! It's on my plan but I don't want an adverse reaction to ruin it for me
BrittanyKahn 2 Posted September 17, 2015 Salmon was actually one of the first solid foods I ate after the surgery! It went really well for me. That being said, I've had an easier time than most other people when it comes to tolerating foods. Just go slow and listen to your body as you eat. Good luck! her1981 448 Posted September 17, 2015 Be careful not to overcook it. Dry salmon goes down rough! Lol
AvaFern 3,516 Posted September 17, 2015 The trick with salmon is to eat only a few bites, then wait, and eat a few more bites. For me, it slides down quite well, and then I end up eating just a bit too much, and bam barf it all up. I'm two years out, so you'd think I'd have learned by now, but salmon is one of those foods that I absolutely must eat slowly or I get sick, likely because it ends up being so dense once it is actually in your stomach. Niki15 198 Posted September 17, 2015 I tried some blackened salmon with green Beans last night and not sure what happened but felt full with just about 1 oz and could not rat anymore then felt sick to my stomach the rest of the night ugh .Wont be eating that again for a while
tjstark 74 Posted September 17, 2015 Salmon and other soft fish in general should go down well. I was advised to try and keep it as moist as possible to ensure it goes down smoothly.
OutsideMatchInside 10,166 Posted September 18, 2015 Salmon is too heavy for me. And if it gets dry, you will regret life. White flaky fish is much easier.
maggie409 765 Posted September 18, 2015 I love salmon. I had it for supper last night.
rnsamantha 352 Posted September 18, 2015 I eat quite a bit of salmon. Make sure you don't overcook it though. I tolerate it much better than any form of chicken, but have to eat it slowly and stop as soon as I feel full or it will come back up.
del112 62 Posted September 19, 2015 I use to love this thing so much but now I can't stand to smell it!!! Very difficult dealing with the smell of fish
shellyd67 198 Posted September 19, 2015 Fish and seafood are easier on my sleeve than chicken/poultry. I think because it's so soft ... If I do have chicken, I cook it in the crockpot and it purees well.
jess9395 5,449 Posted September 19, 2015 As with everything try a small bit and see how it sits then you can eat more. Most people it seems have to issues with salmon, but I did! Hurt like heck first time I tried about a month out. Waited about 2 more months and had it again and it was fine!
newbeginnings1965 48 Posted September 19, 2015 Salmon fulls me up quicker than soft white fish, but i do love it, just eat slowly so u will feel when u have enough
