meyouus 415 Posted September 17, 2015 Three months out. Lost 35 pounds right away. Now, I'm NOT losing weight, 2 months now. However I am noticing some changes, and my coworkers are too. My bra is getting bigger - not losing weight though. I have been taken off my supplemental oxygen forever - not losing weight though. I am standing up straight more often - not losing weight though. I am walking without my Rollator (walker) a lot - not losing weight though. My clothes, some, are falling off me - not losing weight though. I am able to go on mad cleaning streaks - not losing weight though. Losing some of my huge chin - not losing weight though. Upper arms flapping around - not losing weight though. I am blessed with the above, I recognize it every day. But how did these things happen when I am NOT losing weight? Honestly?
TXMissy 211 Posted September 17, 2015 I have had several small stalls. You are exercising and the muscle you are building weighs more. I know that is not what you want to hear. It will come off, keep up the great work!!
Cervidae 2,389 Posted September 17, 2015 I feel your pain, as I'm having a similar experience! Though I'm only a month out (1 month today, actually), I've only lost 17 pounds and I'm super disappointed, even though I have had several NSVs. Stalls are normal, unfortunately, but it seems to me that even though you aren't losing pounds, you're gaining your health. And that's really, really good! Mystifyrn 1 Posted September 17, 2015 Thanks for this post. I am 4 weeks out and lost 22# but I am at a stall and it is discouraging. I am excited that I can walk without back pain but would like to look nicer in my clothes ,Just was feeling that loss should be more! And not so early with plateaus
meyouus 415 Posted September 18, 2015 Two month stalls are NOT normal. I'm not understanding things like dropping 2 sizes, or your breasts shrinking when no weight loss occured. Someone mentioned that muscle is heavier. Ok. Does body 'size' shift without weight loss? I don't get it. Where does it go? Is that fat hiding?
Inner Surfer Girl 12,015 Posted September 18, 2015 Are you getting in all your Protein and Water? What does your NUT advise? Stalls are a part of the process, and as you are still noticing physical changes then it sounds like your body is working to change your body composition. meyouus 415 Posted September 18, 2015 @@Inner Surfer Girl I get 42 gms liquid Protein, 20-35 in my food/drink. I drink a LOT. Seeing my NUT on 9/24. Expecting an earful.
Inner Surfer Girl 12,015 Posted September 18, 2015 42 grams sounds really low. The lowest recommendation I usually see is 60-80 grams. My goal is 100 grams. What target were you given?
meyouus 415 Posted September 18, 2015 60-80. 42 from Liquid Protein, 20-30 or more on some days from food and drink sources.
wildGoose 207 Posted September 18, 2015 10 pounds a month is good. And it sounds like your body is making major adjustments, and that's good, too. Keep going.
meyouus 415 Posted September 18, 2015 Actually, I lost the 305 pounds within a month and a half.
Inner Surfer Girl 12,015 Posted September 18, 2015 Actually, I lost the 305 pounds within a month and a half. LOL, I did a double-take. Your initial post said 35 pounds. This must be a Freudian slip. 35 pounds in a month is great!

tomi71 581 Posted September 19, 2015 (edited) Stalls aren't uncommon AND two-month stalls or stalls that go even longer can be quiet normal from what my doc told me. This is because usually weight loss is not linear. Couple that with the fact that depending on how long you've been over weight and a slew of other biological factors one can see how a "long" plateau can occur. It all boils down to how your own body reacts to weight loss. Of course you have to be very mindful of what you are eating too and make sure you are changing up the exercises.
