I thought about it long and hard

Your tummy has turned into a bit of a weenie. Not eating will only make said tummy more weenie.

The above post is correct. And it's a very very dangerous decision.

That being said, I understand completely. When I'm full I feel gross. Right after surgery it hurt. 4 months out and it doesn't hurt but generally just sucks. I too would rather not eat. Then I remember the reasons why I did the surgery..... health, wellness, to be the best me I can be. This tool can hurt you if you choose to not get in your Proteins and Water. It can do more than hurt you. Life long complications and death. I'm not trying to scare you at all. But sometimes we need reminding of consequences because we forget them.

Not eating will shrink your stomach even more. Especially when you are still healing. Then you can eat even less than you should be at each stage. Danger danger.

Tips?:

Branch out and try different things.

Use a measure cup and only eat 1/2 of what you should at a sitting but eat more often....

Log the Protein amounts. If you drink Protein shakes that ate very high, you can avoid eating to some degres. However, make sure you ate getting full Water count in also.

Good luck! You can do it!!

The key is to learn to eat slow and knowing when to stop eating. I've just recently mastered this art, of stopping just shy of being full. When you are sleeved it is very uncomfortable to be full. It's like you are a reptile and just have to lie down and do nothing for 30 minutes to an hour to digest your food. I hate it. But if you do it correctly and stop shy of being full you can continue about your daily life as normal.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
