Recommended Posts

I am almost 6 weeks post op and my calorie in take is between 550-600 -

I workout 3 mornings a week at the gym for 90 mins each ( cardio and weights) and 2 days of 90 min Water aerobics.

I have a hard time getting my food shakes and Water in as it is. I am only 2 weeks into stage 3 food.< /p>

The absolute and only way to lose weight is to have a negative caloric intake. While we are losing weight our bodies need to expend more energy than we are taking in. At maintenance we need to balance to two but if anyone hopes to lose weight there needs to be a deficit.

I did not for the first 14 months post surgery. I have now been ordered to by my Bariatric team as they are concerned that my net calorie intake is too low to support my activity. I wear a heart rate monitor and have a pretty good idea of how many calories I burn. I also do a significant amount of intense exercise. I also would never eat back calories I burn from walking around the mall or doing housework

I generally do not eat my exercise calories. I consistently eat from 1100-1200 calories a day. My fitbit tracks how many calories I burn, and I have never even gotten close to eating what I burn. At some point I will have to increase so I stop losing.

Nope. I can definitely see why people do, but I don’t think it’s a good idea for me. I don’t want to get into the mindset of depending on exercise to compensate for eating more. It’s my bad eating habits that led me to trouble with weight, and I feel like for myself, it’s best to make sure I stick to good eating habits. If I exercise a little extra and it shows up on the scale…great!

I don't eat walking around Cals either! I usually walk 10,000 miles per day!

How is it that you walk 10,000 miles a day??? That's impossible.. haha
