sandie328 0 Posted September 15, 2015 I had my surgery on 9/2, and had lost 7 pounds the week before on the Clear liquids. I lost another 7 from the date of surgery til about 9/10. Since then, nothing. I am not overeating, although on occasion I'll have something I'm not supposed to (but only a spoonful). Compared to how I usually ate, the decrease in intake is astonishing, and I don't know why the weight loss should have stopped. I can only do limited exercises because of back and feet injuries, Any ideas?

IncredibleShrinkingMan 437 Posted September 15, 2015 Are you eating creamed Soups? If so, are you eating the strained variety and ones that are made with milk instead of heavy cream? Those can be significant calorie loads, especially if you eat more than the allotted serving size. Since you are doing limited exercise, both Water and glycogen stores in your liver could be steadily building. However, there is only a certain capacity and you are probably almost there (glycogen is burned off before fat when you exercise). I believe you are actually losing fat even though the scale isn't going down, and once you figure out an exercise you can do, by the end of a full session or two you should see the "gains" of the last five days realized on the scale. RickM 1,752 Posted September 15, 2015 It sounds like you are right on schedule for the classic "third week stall", which normally happens around 2-3 weeks after any major weight loss effort (such as the start of your pre-op diet rather than date of surgery.) Here is a good overview of some of what's happening now - http://www.dsfacts.com/weight-loss-stall-or-plateau.php Note also, that this has nothing to do with what phase of post op dieting you are in, as it is common to everyone, to varying degrees, irrespective the composition of their diet - it happens as long as you are in a substantial caloric deficit. Good luck,
Babbs 14,681 Posted September 15, 2015 Yup, what @@rickm said. Completely normal, happens to everyone. Your body just needs to adjust.

laura4923 137 Posted September 20, 2015 I stalled for 6 days mid way through my second week. I lost inches during that time. Follow your recommended diet and keep up with your water! Your body just needs a chance to catch up!
