I am a Bronx girl, but have now lived in California a very long time, but NY is still my home. I used to shop, take the Q 44 bus to flushing, for clothes, shoes etc, loved that area. Did some of my nurse training at Queens hospital. I had the sleeve 8/3, so 6 weeks out. How are you feeling, how did surgery go. I am losing weight very slowly, and that is my only complaint right now, but doc says slow and steady is good. I am anxious and would like to see a big drop soon. Good luck with your journey

DR Bagloo. Unfortunately she left to become director of surgery at another hospital. She performed my surgery just before she left. Great DR. The staff is on point with everything

How are you?

I am doing well so far so good. I am now 4months post op and 83 pounds down. I am still in the trial and error process of figuring out which foods I can sit with me and those that don't. I have a lot of weird cravings now and a lot of my favorite foods I don't have a taste for but its like a learning process. I'm just taking it one day at a time.

How are you ?

I'm from Cambria Heights.... Jamaica, Queens pre-op

Did you have your procedure done yet?

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
