Update : Well yesterday first my sugery got postponed for hours because of a Emergency, then finally it was my turn to get surgery, I was so nervous yet anxious, so I pray and pray and that gave me some comfort then As soon as I got put to sleep, It felt like I opened my eyes and the surgery was over, the pain I was in yesterday was HELL, yup pure HELL , I had 5 kids natural and that pain yesterday was WORST, I couldn't talk, drink or walk, the meds weren't helping but honestly as time passed the easier it got, I was in a 9 in pain after the surgery by evening I was a 4 and this morning , a 2, I been walking and sipping and the dr said , he's going check me his next rounds and if I been drinking my fluids, I will get the ok to leave today, I have no gas pains and I have no regrets and thank you everyone for the prayers and for checking on me , best of luck to everyone and hope everyone has a speedy recovery

Congratulations on having a safe surgery! I hope that all continues to go really well for you. My experience was similar and other than waking up with some pain and having that initial gas pain I got better and better every day.

All the best and don't ever forget to sip liquids like crazy, it is the most important thing you can do for your self (I say as I am sipping my morning water)!

Welcome to the other side! You did it! Each day will be better than the next now. Be sure to walk...it's the best feeling ever (until we get to run again).

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
