madferitchick 163 Posted September 15, 2015 I knew it was going to happen, and I know there's nothing I can do to prevent it, but this hair loss is just horrible! I'm 3.5 months out from surgery and my hair started to shed about 4/5 weeks ago. I thought it was bad to start with, but it's coming out in multiple handfuls now :-( it shows too, particularly around the front and sides. I'm doing what I can in terms of taking my vits, getting in Protein, taking Biotin etc. it sucks tho and I'm petrified I'm actually going to lose it all! I mean, has that ever happened to anyone!?! Just needed to vent, thank you for listening!
Bufflehead 6,358 Posted September 15, 2015 You might want to check out products like Nanogen, Toppik, and DermMatch if your Hair loss is showing. They work really well -- I used them before surgery because I already had terrible hair loss due to bad genetics. Using something to conceal the hair loss can make you feel a lot better and more confident. Good luck to you!

madferitchick 163 Posted September 15, 2015 Turns out all the products you mention are available here! The dermmatch appeals most to be as the thinning it around the front and sides which is noticeable as I tie my hair back everyday. Did you find this product to be good @@Bufflehead ? Bufflehead 6,358 Posted September 15, 2015 @@madferitchick yes, I actually still use it occasionally to blend the space between my natural hairline and the topper hairline. It takes a little practice -- once you apply it with the sponge brush, you may need to use your fingertips to gently kind of push it back into your hairline and make it look completely natural.I love the stuff. jane13 2,256 Posted September 15, 2015 @@madferitchick - I am 4.5 post and in the last month it has been coming out in handfuls. I can actually feel it hit my shoulders and backside if I have nothing on. I also cut my hair to just above my shoulders and I also pull my hair back in a loose ponytail. Football season has started so I may start wearing a ball cap/visor until the Superbowl next year :-( @@Bufflehead where do you get the dermpatch?
bellabloom 2,467 Posted September 15, 2015 Sorry you are going through this. I've been losing my hair for about 4 months now. I've lost about half my hair. It's still falling out but it has slowed somewhat and it's starting to grow back. The tide does turn eventually!!
Kiba 47 Posted September 15, 2015 I lost some hair myself, I use Ogx products since they're sulfate free and such, helped a lot! Plus I stopped heat products completely and just towel dry. The main components for Vitamins is taking Biotin, Iron & vit e, I also drink lots of herbal tea (rooibos & white) and my hair started growing back in full. I hope that helps! jhclikesshopping@gmail.com 285 Posted September 15, 2015 I know it's hard to prepare for the hair loss and when it happens, it's overwhelming. Here is what I have noticed. 1) my Biotin Shampoo has done nothing..... 2) the days where I get 75-80 grams of Protein, I notice the less hair in my brush. 3) loss began at 3 months and now at 6 months, it's less (or maybe I have less hair). 4) if you cut your hair short - feels like you are losing less. Good luck - it will get better..... and it will grow back.
