LMolina1987 75 Posted September 14, 2015 (edited) Is it me or am I the only one who gets turned the wrong way when someone says "" I don't think u need it. Just gotta eat healthy and workout "" if it was that easy for me I would but I don't want to get into deep conversations about my personal life and why its not that easy for me. That's why I have a therapist and psychologist. Sent from my SM-G900T using Tapatalk Edited September 14, 2015 by LMolina1987
OutsideMatchInside 10,166 Posted September 14, 2015 The best way to avoid people being in your business, is to not tell them your business. Once you talk about your life everything thinks they have the right to comment.
Miss Mac 6,262 Posted September 14, 2015 The tech who did my pre-op EKG told me that she did not think I needed the surgery. I told her to call my surgeon and tell him she disagrees with his diagnosis. That shut her up.

Ilovecats1985 100 Posted September 14, 2015 I really hate those comments. I haven't told many people about my upcoming surgery October 21. Even my husband made comments similar to those. I eat healthy but I have pcos so it's so much harder for me to lose weight. Also working out is hard for me, I have fibromyalgia. some days getting outta bed to take the kids to school is all I can manage. He shut up pretty quick when the dr explained it all to him and told him the surgery would help with these conditions and some others I have. Anyone else who has made similar comments I usually tell them "everybody is different. What works for one will not work for all. I don't expect you to understand but you should be respectful!" Most people shut up right away.

ThreeFifty 166 Posted September 14, 2015 I havent told many people for that reason. too many people feel like they have to give commentary on everything. I went to a restaurant recently to watch UFC and I ordered a small amount of food. I ordered a cup of Soup, and I asked if I could order the "Add an extra 5 grilled shrimp to any entrée" without actually ordering the entrée. They let me do it with no problem and after I ate the 5 shrimp, I couldn't touch the Soup. The waitress thought I didn't like the soup. I eventually told her I had wls and I'm full because I'm missing 80%of my stomach. the first thing she said was "you dont need it" I said "How do you know? I had it 8 weeks ago". but she wasnt giving her opinion in this case. she had a friend that was going through the process and actually had some real questions about my experience.
