Yes it is normal! I only threw up a handful of times the first month or two, and those were when I tried new foods (meats) that my stomach was not used to digesting anymore. I would think that throwing up often after eating would be something to be concerned about.... but NOT throwing up should be looked at a sign that you are healing well and that your body is very tolerant to the amounts and types of foods you are ingesting!

Just watch it closely. If you continue to throw up after eating everything call your surgeon, it could be a stricture.

I was sleeved on September 10th and I have not had to nausea or vomiting either. I know it has only been 4 days but I have heard many people experienced some nausea and vomiting during the first week. I am taking it very slow. Drinking on ounce of Water 4 to 5 times in an hour. The sugar free popsicles definitely are refreshing. I am hoping that I do not experience any nausea/vomiting at all.

Yes, it's normal, I'm 2+ years post-op and I haven't thrown up once. It is more normal than you think because people tend to post here about problems rather than smooth sailing, and throwing up is a problem!

I haven't thrown up after eating since I was sleeved 8/27. Is that normal.

Why would you want to throw up? I've haven't thrown up since I left the hospital and the only time I threw up in the hospital was when I accidentally swallowed too large a piece of ice post op. Not throwing up is a good thing.

My surgery was on 8/24. I vomited yesterday for the first time. I slugged down a glass of vegetable juice and a few moments later it came back up. I forgot to take small drinks. I gulped.

My surgery was in February 2015 and I have not been nauseous, nor have I thrown up.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
