Miserable and depressed

Recommended Posts

What do you do when your health conditions are getting worst no matter what you do the doctors sounds aren't helping and you just don't want to get out of bed anymore... No relief from the GERDS, the diabetes and no weight loss..... At this point I give up I'm tired of trying the meds not helping I'm up to 4 shots of Humalog insulin one shot of victoza 1000mg if Metformin, Reglan 4 times a day, liquid carafate 4 times a day, omerpazole, Promethazine for the nausea and vomiting not to mention my blood pressure meds ugh I really regret having the sleeve and I'm still having all these problems that was suppose to get better and the acid reflux is worst than it was before I had the sleeve......

@@Titaniumsleeved2014 What you could do is find another Dr. If you're not getting the answers and help you need then find someone else. Do some research I don't know your history so I can't give you any advice like that. You need to get some help.

Why haven't you lost weight?

You sound like you would be a PERFECT candidate for a bypass revision. I think you really need to look into that.

Just saw you post on the other thread. PLEASE do not give up seeking a revision. No one deserves to be miserable and in pain. It may be a 4 hour trip but that's nothing compared to a life time of being uncomfortable.

If I was you, once I was done setting things up with the new surgeon I would then report the old doctor. Your revision should be on his priority list since it means you were an unsuccessful sleeve and a negative reflection on his skills as a surgeon. I realize there are no guarantees, but he should be making every attempt to make sure things work out for you.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
