My skin is so dry and scaley... No matter how much lotion, Vitamin e or olive oil my skin still drys up fairly fast and peels.. I hadnt had this problem prior to being sleeved in June. Is anyone else experience this? Looking for suggests on what can help...

All I can suggest is to stay hydrated and keep using body oil, etc.also, put your body oil on over damp skin.

One tip I learned from one of my doctors is to make sure your lotions and moisturizers do not come in a pump bottle. Apparently, the additives (alcohol?) they use to make lotion pumpable is in itself drying.

Thx! Will try apply over damp skin and see how that goes.

And, oddly enough I never buy moisturizers with pumps... I always thought that was weird of me, but good thing huh?!

Try either virgin coconut oil or Bio oil... both brilliant.

I'm using coconut oil at least once a week, firming lotion at least twice a week, and Vitamin e oil once a week. Other days I use lotion (Lubriderm, in a pump bottle -- yikes! ) Also, I exfoliate a lot. Mostly because I'm trying to prevent sagging, but so far my skin hasn't been too dry. Also, I've been told to avoid too hot Water in showers and baths.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
