New clothes already?

Recommended Posts

Is it weird that I want to start buying "goal" clothes now?? I pass by a size 14 or a 12 "cute" pair of jeans and I want to buy them. Now. Or that perfect "little black dress" that I always wanted.

I know I have quite a few weeks till I have the surgery and even then I have the post op phase so I likely would not be able to wear those jeans for months yet.... But I want them hanging in my closet.. Lol.

I want to look at them and imagine myself in them, and then periodically try them on after the surgery until one day.. Viola! They fit!

????this whole post after writing it down just makes me laugh... I'm just so excited!!! ????????????

Treat yourself to one thing, hang it in your room and look at it every night and work hard at getting into it.

Not too small though, be realistic about the numerous goals along the way too ;)

I am currently a size 18 so I thought buying a size 14 would be a great motivator. I have a pair of miss me jeans I have had my eye on for years...I cannot wait to be able to fit into a pair!!

I had a few goal clothes before surgery, although I think all but my Halloween catwoman costume where things that I had fit into before. I had a pair of jeans that were a 12, a skirt that was a 3, and a pair of capris from high school that were a 5, and which I swear they started cutting clothes bigger, because that 5 is a lot more like my 0's now. Because I had clothes from most sizes I did measure my progress by how I fit into things. I also found that a lot of the stuff I wanted to wear again, I didn't really want to wear once I was back into that size and then when I passed all of those sizes I had a jolly great time buying new things. Buying one or two goal outfits can serve as a great motivator. In fact, I tend to buy clothes now that fit me perfect, or just a bit snugly because it keeps my weight constantly in check.

Yes I agree clothes now are not the same sizes as when I was younger!

I will definitely keep y'all updated when I finally get to slide into that fabulous pair of jeans????

You'll be losing weight so fast that if you do buy clothes in those sizes you want be able to wear them for long. ???? my sister did that, buying clothes in future sizes. Its funny because she went through those sizes so fast that she forgot to wear those size 14 jeans before she shrunk down to a 12. ????????????????????

I love this idea! It's a great motivator. I think I'll do that myself!

I didn't even think about losing so fast I skip sizes.. But now that you mention it, it is very possible. I honestly cannot wait to shop in the smaller sizes.. Having to head to the plus sizes and seeing the selection is depressing. I am 33 years old and do NOT want to dress like I am 50 already. (No offense)

I went shopping today for an outfit for a cousins quincenera and left feeling pretty pathetic with my size 18 dress.. Still fit pretty snug but that's the highest size they had in it:(

I am determined to stay positive though.. Knowing that by this time next year i will be in such a better place. Healthier and enjoying life!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
