septsleeve 4 Posted September 12, 2015 Hi All I have 3 days till my op and I am supposed to be on 2 Opti products a day only and I broke it today. I ate a chicken breast. I was really hungry I was feeling sick now I just feel completely stupid and guilty. Do you think this will ruin my chances of the op going ahead ?
SleeveMe247 184 Posted September 12, 2015 I was told to be on Clear Liquids 48 hours pre-op, so you should be ok. Even during the liquid diet I was told one small meal was allowed, so I'm sure you are fine!
septsleeve 4 Posted September 12, 2015 I am such an idiot !! but yes I am thinking from now until op I am not even eating another thing
RetroGirl 210 Posted September 12, 2015 I would call your doctor just to be sure he doesn't mind. Operating table is not the best place for a surprise. Doctors are different, some are stricter than others. I know some of them don't even require the pre-op diet, just not etaing 24 hours prior to the surgery. _Kate_ 2,224 Posted September 12, 2015 This would be totally up to your surgeon. You need to let them know as soon as possible in case they want to change your operation date or at least put your mind at rest for it going ahead. What others have done has no reflection on what your surgeon wanted you to do. They are all different. Hope it all goes well !
cindyw41 761 Posted September 12, 2015 A chicken breast isn't going to put off surgery and will be completely through your system before then. The main focus during the pre-opt liquid diet is the reduce the fat on your liver. I've heard of some losing 15-20lbs during this phase. Don't beat yourself up over a chicken breast pre-op. Do however be mindful that after surgery the liquid phase is a whole other ball game
4MRB4PHOTO 3,900 Posted September 12, 2015 Don't worry, stay on your liquid diet from now to the surgery and everything should be fine. Call your surgeon on Monday so that you have peace of mind. Congratulations on your upcoming surgery.
Sharon1964 2,530 Posted September 12, 2015 Have you really examined why you ate something you weren't supposed to? Drinking something like crystal light when you think you're hungry might take care of the feeling.
newmebithebypass 713 Posted September 12, 2015 i would call your surgeon just to be on the safe side no one died by being overly cautious
