Well another first today. I vomited this morning. I'm not sure exactly what brought it on, I did try adding unflavored Protein Powder to my chai tea. I had this immense pain and pressure in my chest and then got sick. Very strange. Less painful than I imagined it would be but disgusting just the same.

Oh no. So sorry you had that experience. I almost had an experience thank goodness it went away. It's hot here in California so bobcats hey mouth being dry, and I go to drink ice Water a but too much and too fast. Not a good combo. I need to get used to sipping.

I am having trouble sleeping. I usually sleep in my stomach and sleeping on my back is not working. I've been up since 3:00am.

New things to get used to.

So yesterday was a very bad day. Almost 90 % of the day was spent in the ER. I was feeling fine most of the day and after going to the bathroom I was in the most intense pain ever. I had to have the paramedics come get me and take me to the er because I couldn't walk down the stairs in my house. Hours at the ER later worrying that I had popped a stitch and I find out I have a huge cyst on my left ovary and a large kidney stone in my right kidney. Thank god I didn't do damage to my bypass but man do I feel like crap.

I had my VSG on 9/17. Surgery went well but I had 2 hernias removed so I'm extremely sore. I have my 1st post-op appointment tomorrow. I can't wait for day 14 post-op to transition to soft foods. I'm tired of broth, Water and sugar-free anything, the after taste is sickening.

I've tried aspartame-freee Protein Drinks from my surgeon but it's still too sweet for me.

I'm glad that this forum is here.

Jenn I've decided that when it rains it pours on me. But I'm back to my old self just a little soar. I was worried about your Protein intake this whole time and was wondering what you should do. I hope you don't lose your hair.

Glad to hear you are feeling better. I'm worried too. hair is important! But I am having pain with eating my yogurt and drinking Protein Shakes. My doctors recommended I go back to clears for 24 hours then try again. At least I'm not wanting real food cause I am terrified at the pain I might have. I am a little bummed because I am going to work for half days starting Monday. I am getting a little dizzy with too much activity. I need a few calories!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
