Weight-loss hiatus :(

Recommended Posts

To the veteran sleevers out there, how long did you keep actively loosing before you stabilized? I'm about 7 months post surgery and have seen some great weight loss and staying pretty active. However, in past 3 weeks or so I just go up 2 pound then down 2 pounds but not steadily decreasing. It doesn't seem like I'm overeating that much. Any thoughts on this issue? Thanks!

I'm a little over 6 months out and for the past 2 weeks I have been bouncing back and forth by 2 pounds. I know my body is just "adjusting" right now and so I am letting it. I have slowed my exercise a bit this week also because of a slight lupus flare-up but I will be right back on the ball as soon as my body will let me.

I have learned to "listen" to my body and cooperate with it. You'll start losing again. It's not over yet.

It's a sort of a stall. I honestly can't believe you're 7 months out and this is the first time you've experienced this??

Lucky. This happens to me almost monthly. Heck, weekly lately!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
