I'm 3 1/2 weeks I feel the same way. I thought when I started the purée stage I would be getting some energy back but haven't yet. I have a headache that never goes away. I get my Water and Protein in each day. I go back to work on Monday.

I've heard taking not only getting the proper amount of Protein but taking your daily Vitamins makes a huge difference. I'm 5 months post-op and have had tons of energy since day 3 post-op. I'm almost 54 years old and have lead a sedentary lifestyle for many years. What type of multi-Vitamin are you taking? Are you taking B12 injections already? I found this excerpt from an online post and it is so true:

Vitamins are critical
It is impossible for you to have your stomach surgically removed or reconfigured and take in the nutrients needed to run your body. While your surgeons group has mentioned Flintstones, that is so you will possibly take something instead of being one of the 67% of post ops who take nothing. They are not optimal and wont prevent long term problems like broken bones from simple falls and losing teeth, but may keep you from dying in the short term. The idea behind supplements is to prevent issues from grabbing you in twenty years when it’s too late to change the path. Take them!

Prior to my surgery, I bought Flintstones Vitamins +Iron because they were cheaper but hated the hard texture and taste. After surgery, I began taking opurity Bypass & Sleeve Optimized chewable vitamins and love the taste. Just a thought.

The three most important elements after gastric bypass surgery are meeting the Protein, Vitamin and Fluid requirements. It can be a little rough during the first few days after surgery getting onboard with the regiment because your body is in a heal mode. But as you get more in line with the program your energy levels should return.

I am 28 months post-op RNY surgery. I do not remember having a problem with energy. Energy seems a strange word from my perception. To me the real word should be stamina, which is the ability to perform physical labor. I am 66 and after surgery I found that my stamina improved to that of when I was in my 30's. Last year I moved 100,000 pounds of gravel and 50,000 pounds of concrete blocks by hand and this year I moved around the same amount. Stamina !

I was so weak and tired all the time. My morning shower would wipe me out for the day. It was really a bit scary.

Between week 5 and 6 I woke up and everything was back to normal. Very odd but that's how it happened.

I had surgery 04/2014 and my energy level was low for around 3-4 months. Once I started exercising on a regular basis I became more energetic. I'm amazed at the amount of energy I now have. It will get better I promise you. I started with a 30 minute walk 3-4 times a week. Today I get 8000-10000 steps in 5days a week, 45 minutes of cycling 2x wk, Les Mill Body Pump 1hr 2x wk and also tried to squeeze in fitness boot camp 1-2 days a week depend on how my body feels.

I've had several surgeries before WLS. For me, it just took a month or two for my body to throw off the effects of anesthesia. I was told the longer you are under during surgery, the longer it takes for your body to recover. And of course individuals have varying recovery times. Hang in there! You will bounce back!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
