MrsKarenC2008 622 Posted September 11, 2015 I have been debating on posting this or not ... but I figure we're all in the same boat ... and there are NO stupid questions ... so why not ... Ladies ... Since surgery ... have any of you had a feminine odor that you've never had before? And no matter how much Summer's Eve spray you use or how many times a day you wash ... it lingers ? I swear ... I've never had this, EVER! I honestly don't know if it's from a lack of something in my diet ... or because I now take Vitamins ... which I never did before, or what?! Ugh. Any advice welcome .... Mom26 313 Posted September 11, 2015 Your internal chemistry is probably off. However, a Google search did reveal that it's a popular side-effect. Here's the article I found: http://womenshealthency.com/articles/the-sleeve-gastrectomy-and-how-it-works/ I would give your GYN a call. She'll have a more "professional" explanation and may have some suggestions. And always make sure you wear underwear lined with cotton.
MrsKarenC2008 622 Posted September 11, 2015 @Mom26 thank you very very much for your reply ... I will definitely ready this article you found for me !
kimby1029 119 Posted September 11, 2015 The body chemistry does change for people and for some women this can cause an odor. I would suggest talking to your doc. Agree Mom26 regarding wearing cotton undies and I also do not recommend Summer's Eve as it can throw off the chemistry too.... See what your doc says. Frequently due to the Protein we eat, there is an odor to urine that is stronger too. Good Luck
MrsKarenC2008 622 Posted September 12, 2015 @@kimby1029 you are right about urine also...I'm not a dirty person by ANY definition. .. but this can be unnerving. .. Thank you for your reply!

Yes! I experienced this post op and it was awful. I tried everything!!! Luckily it went away gradually. I'm 4+ months out now and things are back to normal. Cheri_j 117 Posted September 13, 2015 I have it too. I just assumed it was from all the gas that they pumped into you when the surgeon did the surgery and my internal organs absorbed it. I hope it goes away soon.
