Bloomer723 75 Posted September 11, 2015 I have a wedding to go to tonight and nothing fits. I can't wait for the day to be able to chose an outfit instead of settling on one because it fits.
Mom26 313 Posted September 11, 2015 I'm willing to bet that every single one of us has been in that same situation. I've gone to the store many times the day of a big event because I had nothing to wear. I,too, cannot wait until the day I can open my closet and have a variety of things that not only fit, but look fabulous!
cindyw41 761 Posted September 12, 2015 I'm a few months away from surgery and was able to get rid of clothes I will never wear again..it was amazing.. I can't wait to wear things that don't look like curtains or table cloths.
BLERDgirl 6,417 Posted September 12, 2015 I was a bit of a clothes horse. One of the reason why I currently have a closet ranging from size 30 - 16. I have a pretty active social life. Every year I bought at least one dressy outfit and just wait for the occasion. The down side is I now have pieces I can't bear to part with. I have a full length beaded gown that I just can't bear to part with. It's too big, but the thing is a work of art and I would actually loose money at a consignment shop so it's just sitting n my closet. I've decided that I will allow myself 5 sentimental pieces and everything else has to be sold or donated.
shellyd88 463 Posted September 12, 2015 Is it at all possible to have some things altered? A good seamstress may be the solution for the things you really would like to keep
BLERDgirl 6,417 Posted September 12, 2015 Some things can be altered. Elastic waist skirts I can hang onto a little longer. A lot of things would cost more to take in. It's okay though, once I reconciled with that I was happy to see the things go. It's part of saying goodbye to the old me.
