How long do you ache inside?

Recommended Posts

8 days out and still getting nauseous and most of the day I'm just achy inside. Not my sleeve but just feel like my insides are all beaten up. Am I the only one?

My stomach felt pretty good at 2 weeks out. I didn't feel 100% normal getting out of bed, bending over, straining my stomach muscles until about 5 weeks out. Give it a week and you'll feel better

Thanks! It's not even really muscle aches. It's like my guts and everything else just hurts. Having a rough couple days. Maybe I'll turn the corner soon. Down 15 lbs so at least there's that LOL

Hey,

I had my surgery on July 21st so I am only 7 weeks out and I remember the ache very well. I had some complications : an hematoma on my spleen and had to get hospitalized for an extra week. I had some pain inside like my guts and stomach were punishing me and it sucked a bit. It took me about 4 weeks to feel well again and you just end up forgetting about the pain. It's like my body was finding it's new balance and everything was finally in it's right place.

I know most people say it takes 2 weeks but dont worry too much if it takes you more. Everyone is different. As long as you dont have fever or charcoal coloured poop, chances are you body is just healing.

Stay positive!

Oh gosh! How did they find the hematoma on your spleen? I'm glad you're ok now!! No fever or poop issues as of now. Thank God.

I had fever that started 2 days after surgery. It lasted two days so I called the nurse who told me I had to go to the emergency and they immediately got me a bed. They then gave me a scan where they could see my hematoma. It's actually much better than if I had a leakage in my sleeve (hence the charcoal poop.) or an infected hematoma. I had to take intravenous antibiotics and then stayed for observation.

My fever only left about a week after it started and I was freaking out, taught it was the end of the world and was regretting my sleeve. I needed a little longer to recover but now I'm super fine and starting to see the positive in the surgery. I just dont regret it anymore and things feel more NORMAL.

So yeah, I've learned a big lesson about patience and it was totally worth it.

Good luck, you're much stronger than you think!!!

PS: excuse my English, I'm a francophone :)

Get your Protein in. It helps with that. At this point, I guess your only on liquids so have some Protein shakes, greek yogurt (your new best friend), light cheese, etc. Also, it's important to get your Water in and it helps with hunger.

I dont think anyone has ever been able to get at least 50g of Protein and 2 litres of liquids on one week post-op but that's what you should be aspiring to get to.

Hunger comes and goes at first. Personally, on the first month I couldn't even stand the idea of food. Now I'm craving a bunch of things and I get more hungry. Its just our bodies adjusting and our brain checking in with our satiety. I think it's a great thing. Basically we are resetting out satiety and now we can really know when our body is hungry and for how much. My nutritionist says that now, all we need to do is really LISTEN and give our bodies what they really need : if we get some practice, we will actually know what we need (protein, carbs, veggies, etc.).

It took a long time for mine to feel ok again. It took a couple of months for that feeling to go away. (It's still a delicate little princess that has to be handled carefully.)

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
