no no no ... not that wee ... :)

the Nintendo Wii. DH and I finally found one a couple of weeks ago and I absolutely love it!!

the one we bought comes with the Sport Pack and has Tennis and Boxing (bowling, golf, etc too.)

according to my body bugg, i burn anywhere from 9 - 15 cals a minute while doing the boxing. (to compare - i do about 7-9 cals / minute on the elliptical / bike)

it is an amazing workout and i recommend it highly.

Is the Wii really worth the money? I was thinking of getting it for the same reason, but wasn't sure if it was worth it or if I would use it that much...

the boxing burns the most calories, but I have found that I can get some good swings in on the baseball game too. If you are looking for another video game that does exercise, check out Yourself Fitness. I play it on the XBox but it has other platforms, I think. It customizes your workouts, gives you different scenery based upon your performance level and even offers a yoga session. The desert spa is fun scenery for exercise.

I love my Wii also! Men, I sweat and loose my breath in front of the TV. It's great family fun. I greatly recommend it.

My geek husband just showed me a prototype for the Wii called WiiFit. Apparently, when/if this game is released, users will be able to use a pressure sensitive foot pad for exercise, virtual hula hoops, yoga. It was demo'd at the E3 (electronic entertainment expo). Sounds like it will be a lot of fun.

I just purchased my Wii. My husband and I are having a ball. I do not have my surgery until 9/20/2007 but it is fun playing. The time just slips by. Does anyone know of any other type of fitness games/programs for Wii? I need to get another stick so we can box each other. :eyebrows:

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
