Fat-free is what you want to pick up. I mixed in a little fat free sour cream and cheese. It was so good to eat some!!!

You could always buy dry Beans, then boil and mash them. It's more work but you can be sure they're vegetarian and they'll probably be lower sodium.

I eat the full fat re-fried Beans, there's only 10 extra calories per serving vs the fat free version.

But the taste is worth those extra calories! :-)

I've been eating them since my Puree food stage.

I don't blame you I love refried beans. Just finished a table spoon. It felt and tasted like a major lobster dinner!1

I ate a variety - or should I say tried a variety of things? Frankensleeve was very picky and we came to a truce over my re-fried Beans and ground turkey meat concoction.

I tried (I'm talkin 1 tablespoon!) Peanut Butter, boiled eggs, potted meat/chicken, ground chicken, and a few other things I'm sure I can't remember. Frankie was VERY PICKY! And he didn't like any of them. :-P

Is this what you all are having during week 3? pureed stage?

I discovered that the fat free rosarita has hydrogenated fat in it. Check the ingredients. I bought the vegetarian instead

I haven't tried refried Beans yet.

I will over the weekend though!

For the past 2 nights, I have had frozen jennie -o turkey meatball with a little bit of sauce and ricotta cheese.

Yummy!

I haven't pureed anything. Just sort of mashed it up, took small bites, and chewed thoroughly.

My surgeon told me I can try refried Beans today...

So I did. They stayed down pretty good.

I only had a table spoon. But it was a slice of heaven. I also was told today that I can skip pureed. Just different methods I guess.

Go to mash and then regular food week 4.

Not saying one way is wrong or right. I'm going to keep asking questions and learning what is working for me and what's not.

I agree! Test, test, test. That's the only way to figure out what works for you.

We're all the same, but different at the same time.

There's no all encompassing authoritative guide to what works post WLS.

Each WLS doctor has their own guide to diet and exercise, they only know what their experience tells them works.

I would never say to disregard your doctor's guidelines, but a little tweaking may improve your results.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
