So tomorrow is my three month mark and I'm down a little over 30 pounds. We went grocery shopping tonight and I looked for new ideas and wanted to check to see what others do and if what I do is good:). I purchased some to go tuna packets, turkey meatballs with wild rice, deli fresh turkey meat, string cheese, thin sliced deli cheese-45 Cals, cottage cheese, 100 cal Greek yogurt, cucumbers and salad stuff...I bought light Italian dressing as I wasn't sure what to put on my salad. A typical day for me is a Protein Shake for Breakfast, deli turkey, cheese and mustard with maybe a few veggies for lunch, string cheese after work/before dinner, meat with veggies for dinner and sometimes i do some yogurt with almonds or cottage cheese for night time snack-is this a normal routine? Thanks for the advice:)

"Normal" isn't the point so much as does this work you? I would drop dead if I tried to get my body to digest that much dairy and I hate deli meats. If I listed everything I eat daily you probably would roll your eyes. :-)

Your weight loss is very good and you're getting Protein. How do you feel?

i personally can't eat processed meats. Every time I try I end up throwing up. I think it's the salt and preservatives in them.

However, the focus is on small balanced meals. My doctor told me I shouldn't be snacking at all, just 3 meals a day and focus on liquids in between means.

Every dr is different. My doctor told me to snack on Protein rich foods between meals to ensure I'm at about 800 cal a day... I am 5 weeks out and down 35 ibs since surgery and 50 since preop

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
