Jefferyc79 103 Posted September 10, 2015 I don't have my date yet. I have two more appointments. 9/28, and 10/9. My medical clearance and re-evaluation appointment with the surgeon. It should be in October for sure though.

Jefferyc79 103 Posted September 10, 2015 Yes. I lost 15 pounds before seeing my surgeon. So all I have to do at this point is maintain my weight and not gain. The surgeon was cool with the weight I lost so far and sad I didn't have to meet a weight requirement. So right now I put myself on a 1300 calorie diet unit I have to start the pre-op diet. longjohs 11 Posted September 10, 2015 I feel your pain...I just joined this site this evening. I am on day 10 of the pre op diet and am on clears...while my co workers are enjoying the Chinese food that the rep brought in for an inservice....ugh! But I am bound and determined to stay the course...only 5 more days until surgery.
Veronica_mm 87 Posted September 10, 2015 (edited) I hate to do this but this is the PRE-OP diet you are referring to?? Well, that diet will continue after surgery plus PAIN if you get pain. I had pain for 2 weeks it was terrible, more like miserable. I was hungry, wanted to CHEW, only could lay flat on my back for 2 weeks. But once the 3rd week hit...pain what pain? Awesome!! So hang in there gonna suffer for a little while, but like she said it will pass I had bypass, not sure about sleeve** Oh and Premier Protein shakes are delicious Edited September 10, 2015 by Veronica_mm

CanyonBaby 1,852 Posted September 10, 2015 As all have pretty much said, this, too, shall pass. Focus on what you are doing this for. Every time you get to this low point, try and refocus, ask yourself why you are doing this, then start making plans for what your life will be like AFTER WLS. If you want to start a new sport, travel, go back to school....start planning for it. You should lose a whole lot of weight during this pre-op phase, have you planned for your clothing? Start shopping, just for basics, as you will really drop sizes. When I was going through this phase, the planning really helped me through it. And it DID go quickly! Now I'm almost a year out, and I can't believe how fast the time has passed! Good luck you!

Now I'm almost a year out, and I can't believe how fast the time has passed! Good luck you! As I mentioned in other post I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis wich damaged me nerves in my leg and with the added weight left me limping so I've been stressed these last couple of years I worked two jobs voulantered and went to school. When it hit me everything around me seemed to crash. But after I would like to be active like I was at one time go back to school for my bed then to go to collage to be a social worker one day so I do have a plan after. And I still have clothes from when I was on weight watchers and lost about 80 pounds I want to be at a steady weight before buying a new wordrobe. riley053 6 Posted September 10, 2015 My surgery is scheduled for the 29th of Sept. And this is what I'm afraid of. Good to know everyone has each other's backs on here. I know I'll need this too. Thanks LMolina! You can do this!
CanyonBaby 1,852 Posted September 10, 2015 @@LMolina1987 Glad you have a plan, that is awesome! As far as the wardrobe goes, if you need a few things, try thrift shops for interim clothing...just a few basics, so it doesn't eat too far into the budget. And social workers ROCK!!!!! grandmaofone 411 Posted September 10, 2015 This is to shrink your liver so they don't cause it any damage while doing the surgery. Hang in there just think you are almost 1/3 of the way there and it will be so worth it after you have the surgery. It will soon be over and you will look back and see it was all worth the journey!!
