I was sleeved this last week September 2nd. I feel a lot better this week. I was doing awesome since getting home from the hospital up until yesterday. I started getting cravings for anything and everything I know I shouldn't have and idk how to curve these cravings! I don't wanna mess up on my diet and I definitely don't want to risk a leak and I don't want to cheat around my diet. Any suggestions on recipes or foods/soups that you found helped you get through the liquid 2 weeks post op!!

Try 1/2 medium banana, I scoop chocolate Protein Powder, 2 tbsp creamy Peanut Butter, 1/2 cup Water, 2 ice cubes. Place all ingredients in a blender and mix until smooth. 1/4 cup = 7.3 g Protein.

This got me through!!

Make sure you keep up with your Protein intake and Vitamins, Water is important too, I have 4 kids & a hubby I cook dinner then leave when the eat so I am not tempted. If you keep up on your protein & vitamins it should help so your body isn't feeling deprived, but I know it can be hard! I had low sodium beef broth or chicken broth helped when I wanted something savory, otherwise sugar free Jello, sf ice pops or sf italian ice, sf pudding, I bought (at costco) the Premier Protein premade shakes (choc, vanilla, & strawberries & cream) for my first few weeks it was a life saver to have those ready on hand in fridge (30g protein each too!) when I was making my own I was putting the Peanut Butter powder PB2 in my mixes to help with taste, hope some of this helps you! Best wishes!! ????

Cottage cheese has been my best friend! I like it with canned tuna, canned chicken and with pepper. It curbs my cravings for salt. I also drink 1-2 of the Premier drinks to get my Protein in. Wendy's chili is also on my allowed list. The meat is chopped fine and a small cup lasts me for 3-4 meals. I also like bean Soup and mash the Beans up well. Just some ideas. I know the soft stage gets boring! I am 27 days out of surgery and have lost 23 lbs so far.

These Are the worst weeks but it will get better. I had the same cravings but you can't eat the foods you are craving it's just your brain remembering those things. Hang in there after the 3rd week you will feel so much better.

I'm 6 weeks post surgery and down 32lbs.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
