Anyone having surgery in Oct ?

Recommended Posts

I agree I am not on Facebook! I love our October group and it seems to get derailed by FB group posts. I am all about support and groups but I agree with Edie. Hijacking this thread is not the way to do it. Create a thread and I am sure you will find many participants that are interested in joining your group.

@ I'm also 4 days out today and I want something soft so bad. Some canned tuna fish or scrambled eggs would be so great right now. Also it's really annoying making a full dinner for my 10yr old son who eats about as much as I do now and a separate shake/smoothie/broth for me.

Wow

I am confused on why you are saying wow. No one has been rude or said anything that should be taken with offense. There is also a sleeve forum for those looking for other support from sleevers.

I keep trying to get this thread -Preop Gastric Bypass forum back on track. If you read on Forum Rules #11 hijacking is referenced. This thread has been nothing but support.

I think this was all my fault...and I am truly sorry. I might have been having a bad moment from being stuck in this house for way too long. I will be way more careful in the future. Myself and Sleevinchica just love this group so much and did not want to see it get lost in the mix or breaking apart. It has been one of the biggest instruments in my recovery.

Does anybody ever feel like their insides are shifting when you lay down? I'm a stomach sleeper so I have to compromise with laying on my sides and when I move from sleeping on my side to my back it feels like everything is shifting.

@@julbel721 I'm actually 10 days post op but congrats on day 4, how are you doing? I still just want some chicken lol. But I'm really starting to feel like me again and that makes me so happy.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
