CHLOE12 150 Posted September 27, 2015 I'm having my surgery on Oct. 8th. Very excited, but having some anxiety. Thinking about getting some anxiety meds. from my GP to calm me down. I think what I fear the most is not the weight loss but the actual healing after surgery.

edie091371 544 Posted September 28, 2015 food funeral #2 happened last night. Brazilian steak house...it was a long, miserable night! But it did help me reflect on why this surgery is so important, why I make such horrible eating choices and how much better I am going to feel. I also realized that the idea of the "food funeral" somehow gave me permission to eat to the point of toxicity. I think I learned that there is a tiny bit of panic in me about the surgery and it is almost like I am trying to jam everything in out of fear that I will never taste any of it again. And this is just not the case. So even tho the food itself made me ill, I feel like I had a mental victory and brought to the surface some hidden fears! Laughingmyassoff2015 79 Posted September 28, 2015 @@edie091371 First, Brazilian steak house! Yum! I had a "food funeral" with some friends last week and I could only eat 1/2 of my sandwich dripping with beef grease and cheese spread. I felt the same way though. I was trying to stuff down as much as possible and I get sad when I think of foods I didn't eat now that I'm on my preop diet. I agree with you. This is head stuff. This is going to be a mental battle more than a physical one, for me at least. I'm just trying to think of all the things I will gain for this surgery, not that I'm losing some favorite foods for awhile. Just for fun, here's my food funeral which we called The Last Supper...obviously, I got to play his holiness. This isn't meant to be offensive, just thematic! edie091371 544 Posted September 28, 2015 @laughingmyassoff2015..omg!! That is greatness!! I 100 percent agree with you...this is a head thing! We just have to remember we are stronger then our immediate desires. And I keep reminding my Co workers about how cute I think i am now... can you imagine how full of myself I am going be at 100 pounds down!! Lol
