When you look at it logically, there is not way you could have gained 4 pounds - you aren't eating enough food.

You're still recovering from major surgery - your body is just trying to figure out what you're doing. You have severely limited your calorie intake, removed the better part of a major organ, you went under anesthesia, etc. You've thrown a lot at it.

My husband went so far as to hide the scale from me and he brought it out once a week. That saved my sanity. I also started taking pictures and my measurements - it was nice to see a difference in my body and my measurement numbers when the scale didn't give me the result I wanted.

This early out - the scale is not necessarily your friend. Do not give the scale power over you or your progress. Our bodies don't always react the way our brains want them too.

You're doing great - keep up the good work!

i feel the same way... Was sleeved on August 5 and down 32 pounds but for the last week and a half the scale has not moved from 217... And I am worried... I drink only Water and eat two teaspoons of food... That's all I can hold... So why is the numbers not going down... Hate the number...217.2

ylluz I agree with the other posters there is no way you could've gained 4lbs. I didn't weigh at all until my first post-op and now I'm only going to weigh 1x a week or else I WILL DRIVE MYSELF CRAZY! It's just not worth the aggravation to me. I wish you well on your journey fellow 8/17 sleever ????

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
