A little motivation please

Recommended Posts

Well I am kinda new here but I found this place to be of great support. But as the title says a little motivation. I got sleeved on August 17th, my weight when I started this journey was 343 and now up to date I am 300 pounds. I believe I am 3 weeks post of and I have terrible nausea, it will just not go away. Since I had my surgery in Mexico there is no way I could go to my doctor so I went to my primary care physician. He basically told me that the surgery was not his specialty but he believed it was acid reflux. I told him I was taking omeprazole at home and it was of no help so he prescribed zantac to be taken as needed. He also reffered me to a bariatric surgeon but the referral takes time. I was optimistic but no luck, the nausea got worse and I started throwing up which was more like dry heaving. This lasted for about 2 days until my mom saw my condition and just told me we should go to the hospital. They did blood work and had an ultrasound done to which they found I have gallstones and the doctor recommended I go to my primary doctor to plan some surgery to remove my gallbladder. I asked if my nausea was due to that he said yes, so all my symptoms will not go away until I get my gallbladder removed. I've always been a fairly optimistic person but this is really getting to me. I am a nursing student and took a semester off to deal with this nausea so now another surgery is just out of my plans. Im close to graduating, but the nausea has taken over my life and it is just depressing. So I was wondering if any of my fellow sleevers had this happen to them? Anything similar? Any thoughts/opinions are welcomed.

I can't offer any advice but I just wanted to say that I really feel for you and hope you sort this out as soon as possible.

On reading several post the gall bladder is one of the concerns after the surgery. Glad I don't have mine. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

I had my gallbladder out years before I had my sleeve but yes, it can cause all of the issues you are experiencing. It can also be triggered by fast weight loss.

You will feel SO much better once your gall bladder is out. The good news is the recovery is fairly easy. In a week or two you should be able to go back to school.

The same thing happened to me about a year after my lap band surgery. My fiancée and I were on our way to NYC and I got so nauseated on the train I had to lay my head on his lap. By the time we got to Penn station I was laying on the floor crying from the pain and nausea! I was able to catch the next train home with my fiancée feeding me sips of cool Water the whole way. Long story short, I had my gallbladder removed the next day as emergency surgery. My surgeon told me if he had not taken it out, I would not have been able to eat or drink without extreme pain. Take my advice and get it done ASAP! Please don't end up like I did in the middle of Penn station scaring the tourists lol

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
