Any August 31st Sleevers?

Recommended Posts

I'm a Sept 1 surgery person, so yesterday was 5 weeks for me. :-) These days about half the days I have 2 liquid Protein meals, and one solid, and half the days I do 2 solid and one liquid. I simply cannot take in enough Protein in a solid "meal" to be able to meet my protein goals otherwise. My typical meals are chicken breast shredded, or scrambled eggs with cheese or diced smoked turkey. Yesterday I had 3 (!) Ikea meatballs when we were out at dinner time, so about 6g protein, but very filling. So, later that evening I had a Syntrax nectar Lemon Tea to help top that off.

I've lost about 20 lbs since the day of surgery, but I had lost over 30 in the three months before surgery, so all my "Water weight" was already gone. :-)

I'm a 9/2 girl here!! I've lost 71 pounds since June 5. Since surgery 9/2, I've lost 37 pounds. I'm doing great. Only meats I really like/have tried are chicken breast. I've also tried turkey/beef Jerky and I chew it to a purée and I love that too. Still do not feel hungry at all and have to remind myself to eat. As for "soft" things, I like yogurt, scrambled egg, quaker oats "weight loss" low sugar and fat oatmeal, cottage cheese, lentils, pintos n cheese from taco bell, string cheese, SF popsicles and Jello. Liquids, I do 64 oz + a day of mostly pure Water because I love water and also diluted Powerade zero. I will not be having any bread, rice, Pasta or fried foods AT LEAST until I'm where I want to be weight wise. My new miss. Tammy keeps me in check! Although, I haven't gotten sick or thrown up NOT EVEN ONCE!! But I also chew VERY WELL and eat VERY SLOW. So that's a big help. Very proud of no puke since I am frightened of it touching me or getting it on me. It's a fear!

How is everyone doing? I am doing great, no complications. I'm down 69lbs. I was a tight 28 or 3x/4x- now I am wearing 18/20 or 1x and even a few smaller items. I'm getting my life back and couldn't be happier.

I'm down almost 73 pounds (includes 12 pounds on 2 week pre-op diet). The holidays have been a bit of a struggle, and I definitely need to kick the carbs again, but I've still lost some every week. No stalls yet, luckily. I'm also working out 2-3 times per week.

Hi, I guess I'm losing a bit more slowly than you guys but I'm OK with my progress - I'm down 60 pounds and from a tight sz 24 to 18/20. I've lost this much with weight watchers before (though not this fast!) but once I hit onederland, it's gonna be a whole new ballgame!

I'm a slow loser too but I'm losing so I'm happy.

Down from tight 16 to a loose 10, down 42 lbs so I truly can't complain. I've never averaged 10+ pounds a month before so in the grand scheme of things, I'll take it!!

I'm a September 1 person, and another stately-paced loser. :-) I am down 80+ lbs since I started my pre-surgery lose on Jun 1; 40 lbs of that is since surgery on Sept 1. I have gone from a 28+ in pants to a 22 (about to move to a size 20, probably by February), and in tops, I'm now wearing 14-16 at Lane Bryant, and a regular size XXL or XL at Target. However, most of my clothes are custom made by eShakti -- I have lost about 8 inches around my waist, 12 around my hips, and 6 around my bust. :-) In another 5 lbs or so, I will be at my lowest weight in over 20 years. Oh, and I've just taken up Pilates. :-)

Foodwise, I am eating more "regular" things, but in very small portions. I still have at least one Premier Protein shake a day, usually in the morning. I eat a lot of chicken, but also fresh mozzarella with salt, pepper, and balsamic vinegar, and occasionally meatballs. I still haven't really eaten much beef that isn't in meatballs, and spicy food bothers me some.

Perhaps the silliest thing is that my shoes are all getting too big, so I have to replace them all with new smaller ones.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
