ttdish 315 Posted September 6, 2015 I was also sleeved on 8/31! So far, so good. My recovery has been very smooth, very little pain and almost no nausea. I've been allowed 3 mini meals per day of 1-2 oz of soft Protein since day 3 post-op, and seem to be tolerating everything fine. Not having much issues with hunger. Struggling getting my Water and Protein in, but starting to be able to take bigger sips, so I'm getting there. Now that I can finish a Protein shake (11oz, takes about 30 minutes), I should reach my protein goal today. Water, I just need to remember to sip constantly. I'm feeling very tired today. I'm guessing that comes with eating less than 400 cals/day for a week straight.
ryebread 17 Posted September 6, 2015 I'm August 31st too, and glad to hear all of you are doing well for the most part! I write in my phone everyday my intake so I can see how I'm doing. I've been getting 45gms a day of Protein which is below the 60-80 I should but its getting better. I debate if I should drink Water or the Protein at any given time since I don't have any hunger pangs yet. The random gas pains are my biggest issue. I finally went out shopping today and was able to walk around for about an hour, with breaks in between. I go for my follow up on Tuesday and can't wait to see how much weight I've lost so far! My bariatric nurse told me in the first few weeks, getting protein and fluids would be a struggle, and if I had to sacrifice one to get the other, sacrifice protein. Protein will help us heal, but Water is going to keep us out of the hospital. Made sense to me. ^^ I think I'm going out tomorrow to get some of the clear protein drinks, so I can make sure I don't have to sacrifice protein to get my fluids in. tdhaddox 118 Posted September 6, 2015 Ugh! The gas pains! Kept me up off and on all night. Better today, I'm thinking I pushed it too much yesterday. Everything I drank yesterday either had Protein or Vitamins in it. Sticking closer to just Water today and figure if I get 30 gms in, I'll take that as a win. I've divided the Premier Protein into 3 servings, hope I sleep better tonight.
PamInWA 21 Posted September 7, 2015 I went out yesterday and got a couple of the Protein Water type drinks but I'm really not wild about them - tried Isopure and Cocotein but they are too sickly sweet. I ordered the sample pack of Syntrax Nectar from mybariatricpantry.com but I'm getting my protein from premier, Greek yogurt, and Unjury chicken Soup for now. kimlmt 23 Posted September 7, 2015 (edited) August 31st sleever too! Everyday has been better and easier to get in fluids, but I can't drink water! Lol! I was a HUGE Water drinker before surgery and now it's kind of "slimy".....weird, right!?! I have been enjoying Vitamin Water Zeroes along with my Premier Protein and broth. I just had creamy Tomato Soup and it was one of the best things I have ever had! I have felt really good throughout the last week and I'm so grateful for it! Glad to find you guys! ???? tdhaddox 118 Posted September 7, 2015 Feel like I turned a corner today! So glad to make it to full liquids! Went the grocery store alone and picked up a few extra things to get through the next few weeks, and maybe wanted to see how it went on my own. Moved much slower through the store and I'm ready for a little nap but .....yay me!! Hope the rest of the 8/31 peeps are doing well today!!

Litzy 25 Posted September 9, 2015 Ok fellow sleevers... I wanna know is anyone else having this problem. I was able to do my Protein intake and my liquids intake ever since day 3 but I have noticed from day 7 til today that I'm having an issue intaking my Proteins along with my liquids. I either have a full feeling or its getting uncomfortable to swallow my drinks. When I say uncomfortable I mean like it feels like day 1 again. Is anyone else experiencing this??
