southernqt 236 Posted September 4, 2015 I think everyone should know different situations that could occur and since i couldnt find much on pregnancy and lapband complications i figured my story needed to be out here for others to see . I got pregnant in December 2014 and didn't find out until January 2015. We were the happiest anyone could be because I had my lapband for 2 years and was close to my goal weight. At 16 weeks I had trouble keeping anything down and there started my journey. My Fluid was completely taken out and from 16 weeks to time of birth I didn't have fluid. Week 18 I had gallbladder surgery. After surgery I started having kidney stones one right after the other. I was in the hospital more than I was at home in the end of my pregnancy. The end of my pregnancy journey and the beginning of motherhood happened the otherday and was not my choice. Baby came 4 weeks 3 days early because she was breech and had my placenta pressed against my lapband somehow to where it cut off the hole going to my stomach. I was not getting any nutrition and was sick for a solid week before anything was done. The doctors thought I was crazy but in the end when I had the csection it was what I had said all along (my lapband doc also told me i would have a tough 3rd trimester) ...she was blocking my band. Now I have a beautiful 5 day old little girl but was forced to deliver early. You know your body. Don't let anyone make you feel like you don't! Stick up for yourself and research things. To get thinga done for myself I had to call my gastric doctor and ask him to call my OB/GYN (the OB only had maybe 3 lapband patients before me)... after the pregnancy I feel like a new woman... I have lost a total of 140 lbs and 20 of those lbs were during my pregnancy. All I can say is I'm blessed to have a healthy beautiful daughter this was a learning experience for everyone and now hopefully other women won't have to go that long like I did without answers.
