gabbisha 28 Posted September 4, 2015 Ok so my sleeve was 8/27 a week ago. Am I able to eat apple sauce, scramble eggs, cottage cheese?
RickM 1,752 Posted September 4, 2015 My doc's plan allowed for that, but many do not. If you don't have a guide book put out by your program, then call your doc's office and check on what their plan allows when.
shellyd67 198 Posted September 4, 2015 My surgeons gave office gave me a huge binder filled with so much information. Every single question I could think of was answered within this manual. I was still on full liquids first week out. I just started pureed foods Monday and I am 3 weeks post op ... I would call your surgeons office and ask. MrsRoboto 370 Posted September 4, 2015 Those are considered purées. When are you allowed to have those? For me that was from weeks 2-4.

To be fair, I saw and heard people *in my program* who have had all the same education I had, and were still asking questions that made me wonder if they had not really been in the room with me the whole time. So, I don't think it's all just people not getting education they should -- some folks seem to just not have it sink in.

tssiemer 85 Posted September 5, 2015 The seminar I went to was crazy. It was very informative and some people asked really good questions but some people man, I was wondering if there were even in the same room listening to the Dr. Lol. Trinn 139 Posted September 5, 2015 The seminar I went to was crazy. It was very informative and some people asked really good questions but some people man, I was wondering if there were even in the same room listening to the Dr. Lol. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I was in the pre-admit seminar at my hospital, and of the other two people, one didn't actually understand the surgery or what was going to be done to her. Both of the others were still having carbonated sodas -- one Diet Coke, one regular Coke -- and seemed surprised they were not going to be able to continue drinking them after surgery. Like, "WAIT, WHAT? But how will I manage that????" level of surprised.
jmw1982 59 Posted September 5, 2015 I was given the guidelines of full liquids, pureed, ect, but my surgeon also encouraged adding foods faster than the schedule saying that would help heal quicker. I'm 2 weeks post op, still doing lots of Protein shakes, canned tuna, yogurt. Any solid or semi solid foods, I make sure to take small bites and chew very well. Sharon1964 2,530 Posted September 5, 2015 My surgeon said the opposite! Take it easy on your stomach and let it heal... no point in stressing it and making it work harder. I had one week of clear fluids, one week of full fluids (no dairy, no carbonation, no caffeine), then two weeks of purees (including scrambled eggs, applesauce, yogurt). Today I'm moving to soft foods like tuna, which will be for a week, then meat as tolerated.
lfiori 0 Posted September 5, 2015 I had surgery 8/24 and my surgeon has his sleeve patients on clear fluids for 2 weeks 2week puree 2 weeks soft food
mismatched 24 Posted September 5, 2015 For scrambled eggs - do you actually purée them after you cook them or are they soft enough as-is to eat during the purée stage?
Niki15 198 Posted September 5, 2015 Nope they are soft enough
