Third Fill - tight

Recommended Posts

You guys are SO LUCKY and I'm getting jealous!! I've had 2 fills and barely have any restriction at all. I can eat ANYTHING as long as I chew it well, and I'm hungry all the time.

I'm going for a 3rd fill on August 16th and I sure as HECK hope my PA gets fill happy!!!!! I would LOVE to be as tight as you guys are...

Good luck!

-Shannon

Be careful what you wish for....I had my third fill last friday and I think he put in too much and now I think I am too tight I can hardly keep anything down a couple bite and it is stuck I have been living on water/shake/soup for a week now. I tried to eat a boiled egg this morning and it was hell...I am going to give it a few more days and then go in for a unfill...it is not a pleasent feeling to be so tight everything hurts your chest, stomach and the huge lump in your stoma, the acid reflux. I would rather stick with the small fill untill I hit my sweet spot instead of being too tight from over fill

Started this thread when I had my third fill on 7th July and it was really tight - so now 5 weeks later and I think I am wanting a further fill - have lost a further 4/5 lbs [it fluctuates from day to day!!] but I am now starting to be able to eat anything again. bread is no problem at all.

I have just had the worst flu, throat, chest and eye infection for the past 10 days so am waiting to recover from that first - not really felt much like eating anyway so have been having Soups and Protein smoothies. So what I just wanting to say was - yes we feel really tight when they give us a good fill but it does wear off after a few weeks so my advice is to stick with it - stick with the smoothies, Protein Shakes, soups and mushies and eat very, very, very slowly. Even though I can just about eat whatever I want again I have to eat it very slowly - a big first bit and I am PBing with a vengeance

Ok, explain something to me..... I just got another fill on August 2nd and I have been doing ok, for the most part....BUT how do you know when you are at your "sweet spot?" Do you continue to lose weight at that point, or do you just stay netural? I've had my band since Nov. 2004, but for about 1 1/2yrs I only had 2cc's in a 4cc band,(which did me NO good at all) and now I just got a fill to 3.25cc, which seems a lot tighter and more restricted. (found a dr. a lot closer to where I live) anyway, will I feel this restriction for the rest of my life at this fill? I have lost 10lbs in two weeks, which is wonderful, but I need to lose another 40lbs. I haven't PB or got anything stuck yet, which seems to be a good thing, but I do seem to eat dinner with a lot less restriction than with Breakfast and lunch. I'm really hungry at dinner and seem to have a "hole in the bucket" and eat way more.:hungry: Why is this? Is this normal? Anyone else feel like me? Any suggestion and or help:help: would be more than appreciated.....

Thanks

Janine

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
