According to the article here, there are foods that need to be avoided by sleevers:

http://www.obesityhelp.com/articles/be-aware-of-creepy-calories

I'm a bit astounded by Yogurts. I've been having Yogurt (Fat Free Oikos, plain greek) with a soft boiled egg for Breakfast for the past 2 weeks. I've been losing weight. Since when have greek yogurts become bad calories, my doctor recommends them in his food plan.

I also would like to open this topic up to nutrition, what do you eat throughout the day? what do you drink? Do you count calories, fat, carbs and Proteins?

Inquiring minds want to know.

-Happy Losing!

I assume they mean the sugary kind of yogurt with all the extra carbohydrates.

Most of those foods are on my nutritionists list as okay. That being said it is:

2% cheese

Peanut Butter is okay in moderation since it is high fat and I watch brands for sugar content

coffee Add-ins such as Creamer is higher in sugar and some people drink a little coffee with their creamer

Greek yogurt in and of itself is high sugar but the Greek 100's are excellent

pretzels and chips are a slider food, they don't fill you up and are empty carbs

Baked goods, sweets and pudding are high sugar and fat. SF pudding would be a better choice if you gotta.

My nutritionist and surgeon say for me to get 60-70g of Protein and no less than 900 calories at this point. I am to eat 3 meals and 2 Snacks. I don't have to count the rest as long as I get Protein first, non-starchy veggies second and starches last if there is room. I do a Protein shake for Breakfast on the go, lunch is 3 ounces meat and 1 ounce veggies, snack is a Protein Bar, dinner is 3-4 ounces meat and 1 ounce veggies, evening snack is 1.5 ounces fruit. Other than my Protein Shake in the morning I only drink Water.

It is all about the choices we make. Good luck!

(Greek) yogurt and scant amounts of cheese are the only things on that list that I eat. Frankly I would be more strict and add in Protein Bars and potatoes in any form -- not just chips.< /p>

My typical weekday looks like this:

6am: Premier shake 30 g of Protein

9am: egg (soft boiled) + 2oz of plain fat free yogurt (Chobani/Fage) 22g of Protein

12:00 3 slices of turkey breast deli meat 12 - 13 g of protein.

2:30pm cheese stick 6g of protein

1/3 Peach

7pm I'll have a bite or two of whatever protein we're having and a spoonful of veggies.

I have about 5 16.9 oz of Water a day, sometimes a cup of tea, which is around 16oz.

My doctor wants me to have 60g of protein a day.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.
