mila30 0 Posted September 2, 2015 So I'm really thinking about having this surgery but I'm afraid that I'll be the one to end up with chronic abdominal pain! I'm afraid that everything will go wrong. I had my gallbladder removed 2 years ago and as a result developed sphincter of oddi dysfunction which is a very rare complication. I'm afraid if I do this surgery I'll be the unlucky one to have everything go wrong.
Miss Mac 6,262 Posted September 3, 2015 I was more afraid of having another stroke if I did not get the surgery. I had chronic abdominal pain before my sleeve because of diverticulitis that just would not go away. A month before my sleeve, I was in the hospital in critical condition for eight days with ischemic colitis. My doctor said later that he thought he was going to lose me. The doctors fixed me up and let me proceed with the sleeve surgery. I have had NO abdominal problems and zero colitis since enjoying a textbook recovery. I had my gall bladder out in 1973 (back when they still cut you half in two) and don't miss it.
