Please could anyone on here tell me their experience if they have had the POSE procedure. I was going to go for the gastric plication but my doctor said as I only need to lose 20 - 25 kilos he would recommend the POSE. Of course there are benefits with this procedure being that I can go home the same day as I live close to the hospital and there are no incisions. I would love to here from anyone or be pointed in the right direction to another forum or discussion area on here that I can be a part of and share information. I will be getting this procedure done in the next month. I am based in Spain. I am self pay also so would love to hear any success stories to help me be motivated. Thanks in advance

I am not familiar with POSE. Apparently this form of surgery is performed in the United States. A quick look-up provides the following information.

The POSE Procedure (Primary Obesity Surgery Endolumenal) is one the most advanced incisionless surgical weight loss procedures available to patients today. POSE can be used for patients who have lower BMI and are seeking more conservative weight loss results, making it an attractive alternative to more invasive weight loss surgeries like the Lap Band and Sleeve Gastrectomy procedures.

No incisions, no scarring, no bandages and nobody will know you underwent weight loss surgery.
POSE weight loss surgery involves reducing the size of the stomach through an endoscopic method that requires no external incisions. The entire procedure is performed through the patient’s mouth. Stomach reduction, as with other weight loss surgeries, helps diminish the patient’s feelings of hunger and reduces caloric consumption.
Wish I could be of more help.

It is a very hard procedure to find. I had wanted this and searched for months and came up with all but nothing in this country. It is not available in Mexico though it is in some european nations. I ended up getting a plication instead of waiting till this is more readily available. There is a Dr in FL who does the same thing but he combines it with repairing a hiatal hernia. Pretty pricey though.

My surgery of the POSE went without a hitch on Tuesday. I went in at 8am and was on my way home at 6pm. I was in pain with my oesophagus and throat but kept meds topped up. I followed the preop diet to the T and continue to do so. I am down 13llb, so delighted with such early results. I cut down food leading up to the pre op but in 5 days Im down 3.6 kilos. Delighted. Acid has been a problem to, but it seems each day Im improving.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
