Ulcer after Gastric Bypass?

Recommended Posts

I was diagnosed with an ulcer a month ago (I think it is called a marginal ulcer) after having and Endoscopy. I was put on three meds and tomorrow I have a follow-up Endoscopy. if it is still there and or no better, I will be put on three new meds and then another Endoscopy in another month. If it is not better after that Endoscopy, we are looking a revision surgery.

Anyone else have or has had this? My surgeon didn't want to go into what the revision would be. I have not been able to find any information online.

Huh? This is the Gastric Bypass section. I had Gastric Bypass in December 2014. Lapband is not possible after Gastric Bypass. I wouldn't ever have it anyway.

@@Annek2014 You said: "... If it is not better after that Endoscopy, we are looking a revision surgery." I'm confused about what you mean by "revision". Usually people mean something like "revision to RNY from band" or something like that, but there should be no revision from an RNY.

Unless you mean reversing the whole RNY surgery, and reconnecting your stomach? Is that the "revision" you are talking about?

My surgeon said those words. He did not explain.

It doesn't matter at this point. My ulcer is much better. As it turns out the pain is from my gallbladder. I had an ultrasound. I am having my gallbladder out this Thursday.

Revisions are also done to correct issues, like recurrent ulcers and hernia's, (from rny) and not always to go from one surgery to another. A reversal is a takedown.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.
