Tha_Payne 4 Posted September 1, 2015 I am 7 days post op, and just started my pureed diet, coming from Clear Liquids. I don't get the full feeling at all. I feel like I can eat way more than I'm supposed to be eating. I feel like I am completely failing. I am beyond frustrated .
James Marusek 5,244 Posted September 1, 2015 Weight loss in the "Weight Loss" phase is due to Portion Control. Just consume the amount of food per meal as prescribed by your surgeon. At 7 days post-op, this is probably 2 ounces (1/4 cup). Don't be too concerned about detecting when you are full. Firstly because your body is in a healing mode right after surgery and that is the most important element. Secondly, I suspect you will begin to detect the full feeling once you transition into the solid food stage. The most important requirements after surgery are Protein, fluids and Vitamins. food is secondary. This is because your body is converting stored fat into the energy that drives your body. Thus you lose weight. Over time meals will become important again. As you progress, you can pack more Protein into your meal volume and then start to offload your reliance on protein supplements (such as protein shakes). TXMissy 211 Posted September 1, 2015 Anytime, even now, I feel or think I'm hungry I drink Water first. I know in the beginning my hunger was in my head. Even now at times its in my head. If I'm not hungry after a few sips of water then I know it my head given off false hunger pangs. I stick hard to 3 small meals and a small snack. If I sway out of that I'll be eating all day again! alisiak 25 Posted September 1, 2015 I'm 9 weeks post op and still never feel full. I just eat until I'm not hungry anymore. Usually about 4 ounces. It's totally hard but trust me, you'll get the hang of it. I've already lost 50 pounds! Hope that gives you some encouragement.. It's all so worth it.
