lyafs 1 Posted September 1, 2015 I am two weeks post op finally feeling normal. I've lost 16 pounds and I'm wondering what I should expect as far as weight loss.
joatsaint 2,814 Posted September 1, 2015 My 1st month post-op was my biggest weight loss month, about 22 lbs. After that, I started eating real food again, and even though it was tiny portions, my weight loss slowed a bit. I was losing 15 - 18 lbs a month - which was fine by me! I still remember my pre-op days when I wished I could lose even a 1/4 lb a week consistently! :-) After about 6 months, I settled into losing about 13 lbs a month. By the end of the year, I was approaching my goal weight and weight loss had slowed to about 9 lbs a month. I met my goal weight of 235, but really wanted to get down into the 220's. A few months later, I was still losing about 9lbs a month and hit my lowest of 203 lbs. 3 years later, I float between 209 and 215, depending on the day of the week and what I've eaten. TJBintheOC 104 Posted September 1, 2015 I'm 10 wks out and have lost 40. If I lose 4, 5 or 6 lbs in a week, the next wk I'll probably lose 2. A couple weeks with big losses results in the next wk of 1, 2, or 3lbs. I don't even look at them as stalls. 40lbs is more than I could lose in a yr...and keep off!!! Good luck ❤️
Whitney1968 54 Posted September 1, 2015 Does everyone count their weight loss from before surgery or when you got out with the extra Fluid weight?
TJBintheOC 104 Posted September 1, 2015 I count from the day of surgery.
