Desmond Longbottom 147 Posted September 30, 2015 Firstly thank you so so much for all the messages of support yesterday after my little heart to heart. It was much appreciated! But there is now some news and it is def a bit of a turn around. Seeing as my surgery is taking place in a public not private hospital they have to take emergencies etc... as priority (completely understandable). This has however, left me without a bed so my surgery has been canceled/postponed. Right now i have no idea when i shall have my operation. Not a big deal. Waited this long so i can wait a bit more. For now though he sun is shining and in Ireland this is not to be wasted. You'll catch me at the beach. Heres to being off the hook for now. Des x Ps. (Def pushing the theoretical limit of what being a September sleever means at this point.)

monique490 7 Posted October 1, 2015 Checking in with my co-surgery September Sleevers! How is everyone feeling? I'm doing great thus far. No complications, except I was dehydrated past two days. I am really trying to remember to drink my fluids. I'm back to work and get so busy, I forget, Can you say MIGRAINE! I am focused to get them in today. I noticed hot tea goes down so much better

Desmond Longbottom 147 Posted October 2, 2015 Good afternoon all. So my surgeon got in touch today to apologise for the cancellation. The chances of surgery any time soon are remote. Still on liver shrinking in case things change, but not holding my breath! May end up being a november sleever at this point. It's still gonna happen though so just a matter of waiting Lotsa love Des
mykdzmom 387 Posted October 2, 2015 I made it to the looser bench! My surgery was Sept 30 and I am doing pretty well. I didn't have any issues with pain or gas, and have not used my pain meds. I am struggling with nausea and that is really working against my liquid goals. I am in good spirits and pressing on. I am only able to get down about 24 Oz of fluids on day 1 and trying to bet that today. How much could you guys get down by day 2 post-op?
Smytty 93 Posted October 2, 2015 Great that you are doing well mykdzmom. I was on iv first 3 days so didn't drink more than 20 ounces at most during that time. I am now 8 days post op and do drink 50 to 60 each day. I return to work on Monday so will have to work very hard to ensure I continue with that.

mykdzmom 387 Posted October 3, 2015 @ and ANewMe9/21 Thanks for the feedback. I am going for 3 Oz of Clear Liquids an hour today. I just can tolerate the Protein yet, and assume if nothing else I need to get the fluids down. Glad you both are well.

Smytty 93 Posted October 3, 2015 Great news ANewMe9/21! Hope it goes very well! I am down a total of 22 pounds. 14 pre op and 8 since surgery. I gained 14 pounds from 3 days of iv, so that took about 4 days to lose.

tcrehm 101 Posted October 3, 2015 I just started mushy phase yesterday too! NUT said that I could eat anything that was mushy (or pretend I didn't have any teeth, and that is what consistency I can handle). I ate fish and mashed potatoes. So far so good!
