Anyone have the surgery date of August 27th?

Hi tinatina. Your Drs in the USA (I'm assuming that's where you are from) seem to take things very slow. In Australia, I was on a purée diet from 3 days post op and can have yogurts, custards, purée casseroles. I'm only having about 10 teaspoons to a meal but I can't imagine still being on only shakes. One tip if you want to stick only to them - try blending them with ice. I found a cold frothy shake a nice alternative. If you want to bend a little, my current Breakfast shake at 12 days post op is the Protein Shake powder with a banana and some berries, some yogurt and milk. And ice. Yummy! Makes enough for breakfast and morning tea! Have you tried a Protein Soup? ? Good luck!

Great advice Becca!!

I'm four days post op and love the idea of new options. I've been drinking Premier Protein shakes but am quickly growing tired of my limited options. I see food and feed my family and it all looks sooooo good. If only I could have just a taste... I relish the day I can blend up a meal to taste the same flavors! ...I listen to myself and wonder if this isn't part of my "healing" journey? Seems my obsession with food is a little strong? Either way, I love the idea of introducing some healthy blended options and love the ideas above!

Had surgery 08/25/15, just 2 weeks ago. Was way easier than I thought it would be, I think physcially working out so hard for 3 months leading up made it a lot easier to leave hospital 24 hours after surgery was already back to doing 4000 steps, soon hope to be back to 12,000. However, I am the phase 2 of the diet and the past three days having explosive diahrea sorry if that is TMI. Also, still feel hungry all the time, being very strict with diet, probably need more fluids though, but definitely have enough protien and I even emailed the doctor asking to see if they actually took out enough stomach. Due to fluids I came home 4 pounds heavier, so in total I've lost like 12 pounds in 2 weeks considering I'm eating very literal I'm not very happy about these results. How is eveyrone else feeling post?

I've tried Premiere... strawberry flavor and it was not for me.. I really liked Core Powers Banana flavor but it was loaded with sugar, calories etc. So finally I tried the Advanced Edge (EAS) chocolate.... And it seems to be tolerable as far as taste goes.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
