vixteror 2 Posted August 31, 2015 Today is the day I've been waiting for. The anxiety and mind games that have been formulating in my head all month are finally coming to an end. BUT, these last few days I've had a runny nose and a annoying cough. I'm worried that this will be what causes my doctor to postpone the surgery. I really don't want to wait another week. The mental stress is killing me. Any one find themselves in a similar situation?
Sara51692 162 Posted August 31, 2015 Actually, I had the flu a week or so before my surgery and I felt the same way - I was so scared he'd postpone it, but my surgeon kept checking in on me in the days beforehand and asking me how I felt. I ended up feeling a lot better within a few days or surgery (my fever was gone), but I still had a stuffy, runny nose. None of the nurses seemed concerned and my surgeon said I would be fine. I had to blow my nose a bit before and after surgery, but it didn't affect me much. My advice would be to not worry about it too much but make sure to let your surgeon know. AngelaWilliamsMD 290 Posted August 31, 2015 As long as you're not running a temperature, I highly doubt your surgery will be cancelled!
vixteror 2 Posted August 31, 2015 Well I'm out of surgery and I'm my room. I have almost no pain. the only thing that's bothering me is the gas that is still in me, it hurts but it's a familiar pain. I used to get it when I ate wayyy more than I should. I'm excited about this new chapter I've opened. I told the doctor about the runny nose and he said it was fine. They gave me afrin to get rid of he congestion so I could breathe better.
