Does anyone have a Fitbit? I was considering buying myself a pre-surgery present as I start on my journey towards becoming healthy, strong and fit. I was wondering if anyone had one and what they thought of it.

I do gentle yoga and walk, but I'm going to increase my walking and join a gym. I'd love to hear input on the Fitbit, because I think it could be a really great tool to track activity, calories, food, etc. (I think the app does all that, anyway!) Thoughts?

I just got the charge HR. I like being able to see my HR during exercise to check if I'm working hard enough. The step count is inaccurate if you do things involving a lot of arm movement (ie Zumba) or on stair climber if you are hanging on to the rails. Nonetheless it at least estimates you calorie burn based on your HR, and it's handy that I can sync it to my fitness pal.

I had the Zip for four months. I decided to get the Charge as my pre-surgery gift/accountability. I've had it since Thursday, and I wish I had it at first!

I used to have the fitbit charge, now I have the fitbit charge hr and I love it. Only downside is you have to charge it more often. Then the regular charge and for some reason I have to reset it once in awhile because of syncing issues.

I invested in the Fitbit surge- I love how easy it makes it to check my stats, and I've been walking a lot more since I got it!

I got a fitbit on July 11 and it died on August 11...I was up to 7500 steps a day. My replacement should arrive tomorrow and I cannot wait. I find that it keeps me really focused on my goal of walking. I found myself walking more, parking farther away, etc.

I like it a lot and it helps me.

I use an iPhone 6 Plus. And there is a health app in the phone. So there was no need to buy the Fitbit for me. The health app measures how far I walk and stairs climbed. My Protein intake and all sorts of things. Works for me. My phone is always on me. Hope this helps. Thanks

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
